Job summary

Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a night shift, full-time Med/Surg Charge Nurse to lead nursing care in a busy unit. You will manage patient flow, supervise staff, and collaborate with managers to refine policies and procedures, ensuring high-quality patient care.

The position requires an RN license, 1 year of charge nurse experience, CPR/BLS compliance, and a NM license or compact NM license within 90 days. A sign-on bonus and relocation aid may be offered.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of Charge Nurse experience in a hospital setting.
• CPR certification and BLS must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the practice of Professional Nursing, including the nursing management of the patient and staff of assigned area in charge.
• Manages efficient patient flow, appropriate use of supplies and other operational functions.
• Collaborates with the unit managers and/or directors in developing and revising unit policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Serves as departmental liaison and first line of contact with patients, providers and staff.
• Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
