Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking an experienced ICU Charge Nurse to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. This full-time night shift role leads nursing care in a high-acuity unit, ensuring safe patient flow and excellent clinical outcomes.

You will collaborate with unit leadership, mentor staff, and uphold policy and patient safety standards while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a cutting-edge hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing required.
• 1 year of Charge Nurse experience or equivalent management experience.
• CPR certification and BLS within 14 days of hire.
• NM RN license or NM compact license within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Charge RN oversees nursing practice and patient/staff in assigned area.
• Manages patient flow and use of supplies.
• Collaborates with unit managers to update policies and protocols.
• Acts as liaison with patients, providers, and staff.
• Ensures compliance and patient safety per policies and regulations.

• Lovelace Women's Hospital is a 53-bed advanced neonatal intensive care unit, family care unit, an award-winning breast care center and the first robotic surgery program in the state recognized as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation.

Responsibilities

• The Charge RN is responsible and accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing, including the nursing management of the patient and staff of assigned area in his/her charge.
• Manages efficient patient flow, appropriate use of supplies and other operational functions.
• Collaborates with the unit managers and/or directors in developing and revising unit policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Serves as departmental liaison and first line of contact with patients, providers and staff.
• Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Minimum: Associate's Degree or Diploma of Nursing
• One (1) year of Charge Nurse experience in hospital setting OR more than one year of clinical or management experience
• CPR;
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire);

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing;
• National Certification in clinical specialty care
