Job summary

Grady Health System in Atlanta is seeking a Charge Nurse who reports to the Clinical Staff Manager and oversees nursing care on a unit or shift. You will coordinate activities, assign work, and ensure high-quality patient care.

This role requires an RN with a GA license, BSN preferred, and ACLS/BLS certification as applicable. You will lead staff, teach through protocols, and respond to emergencies to maintain throughput and safety.

Qualifications

• BSN or equivalent education and experience.
• BSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) License in State of Georgia.
• ASN with 4+ years direct patient care RN experience including in a charge role.
• BSN with 2+ years direct patient care RN experience including in a charge role preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Card.
• ACLS is required for specified areas within 90 days of employment or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and evaluate nursing care on a unit or during a shift.
• Coordinate unit activities and direct, organize, and assign work to nursing staff.
• Assess, monitor, and educate nursing staff on patient care.
• Delegate, coordinate, and readjust patient assignments to improve throughput and safety.
• Institute emergency procedures as necessary.
