Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a Charge Nurse to manage nursing care on a specific unit or shift in Atlanta. The role reports to the Clinical Staff Manager and focuses on directing, coordinating, and educating staff to ensure safe, high‑quality patient care.

The Charge Nurse also prioritizes throughput and patient safety, with responsibilities for emergency procedures when needed. The ideal candidate will hold a BSN (or equivalent) and a Georgia RN license, with cross‑unit charge experience.

Qualifications

• RN must hold Georgia RN license and BSN preferred.
• ACLS required for Critical Care areas as specified in posting.
• BSN or equivalent education and experience considered.
• ASN with 4+ years direct patient care RN experience including charge role.
• BSN with 2+ years direct patient care RN experience including charge role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and evaluates nursing care on a unit or shift.
• Coordinates unit activities and assigns work to nursing staff.
• Assesses, monitors, and educates staff on patient care.
• Delegates, coordinates, and readjusts patient assignments.
• Enhances throughput, quality, and customer service.
• Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
