Universal Health Services is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) for the Night shift (NOC) at BHC Alhambra Hospital in Rosemead, California. The role involves prescribing, delegating, coordinating, and evaluating patient care in collaboration with the health team, with supervisory duties over LVN/LPT and Program Specialist.

Responsibilities include comprehensive nursing assessments within eight hours of admission, accurate documentation, and staff delegation based on competency.

Our 115 bed facility established in 1924 prides itself on upholding a standard of excellence that allows our patients to take the first step to recovery. BHC Alhambra Hospital is a private, fully accredited, full-service acute psychiatric hospital serving children, adolescents and adults. BHC Alhambra is dedicated to providing quality behavioral health, substance abuse, and eating disorder treatment. We offer inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient options for individuals in the communities of the San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County, and surrounding areas.

The Charge Nurse (R.N) prescribes, delegates, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members and in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Supervisory responsibilities for LVN/LPT and Program Specialist.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Complete a comprehensive nursing assessment and patient interview according to policy within eight hours of patient’s admission to the unit.
• Document patient information and nursing care.
• Document and reassess any significant changes in the patient’s condition in compliance with facility’s policy.
• Delegate staff assignments based on patient needs.
• Makes daily patient care assignments based on individual staff’s level of competency
• Supervises nursing staff to assure timely completion of patient activities of daily living (ADL’s)

Qualifications

Requirements

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility is preferred.

License: Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
