BHC Alhambra Hospital in Rosemead, California is seeking a Hospital Relations Specialist - Per Diem to join the Clinical Services Department. You will meet admissions, monitor patient experience, and address questions or concerns to prevent escalations, ensuring a smooth and compassionate patient journey.

You will document efforts, respond to complaints per regulatory guidelines, and collaborate with units to improve satisfaction using surveys and feedback platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mental health/behavioral science field preferred.
• Experience working with inpatient psychiatric populations or human services preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required including listening, public speaking, conflict resolution and report writing.

Our 115 bed facility established in 1924 prides itself on upholding a standard of excellence that allows our patients to take the first step to recovery. BHC Alhambra Hospital is a private, fully accredited, full-service acute psychiatric hospital serving children, adolescents and adults. BHC Alhambra is dedicated to providing quality behavioral health, substance abuse, and eating disorder treatment. We offer inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient options for individuals in the communities of the San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County, and surrounding areas.

The Hospital Relations Specialist is an essential team member of the Clinical Services Department and plays a vital role in creating a seamless, positive, and patient-centered experience for patients. The Hospital Relations Specialist is responsible for enhancing the patient’s experience and journey by fostering open communication with patients and early resolution of any questions and/or concerns prior to escalation to a complaint or grievance. They are also responsible for meeting each new admission daily and constantly checking in with existing patients to proactively identify service recovery concerns, improve patient satisfaction and engagement, utilizing patient satisfaction surveys, in-house reporting, and online review platforms (Google Reviews). For any inquiries that elevate to a complaint or grievance, the Hospital Relations Specialist will meet with the parties involved, lead the investigation, and respond both verbally and in written format in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities include:

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in mental health/behavioral science field preferred.

Experience: Applicants must have experience working directly with others in a human services capacity, with inpatient psychiatric patient population and/or chronically mentally ill preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required which include actively listening, public speaking, conflict resolution and report writing.
