BHC Alhambra Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, in Rosemead, CA, is seeking a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) to join our 115-bed facility. The LPT will care for patients under RN supervision and contribute to the treatment plan through observation and data collection.

The role includes night shift coverage (NOC: 11:00 pm–7:30 am) and opportunities for professional growth within a leading behavioral health provider.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited vocational nursing program.
Licensed vocational nurse (LVN) with state licensure.
Experience or education in child and adolescent development preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately collect data for the integrated assessment.
Take and record vital signs.
Observe and document changes in patient appearance, behavior, and progress toward treatment goals.
Communicate changes in patient condition to the Charge Nurse.
Report signs of infection to the Charge Nurse.

Job Description: The LPT performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse in providing nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of psychiatric and personality disorders.

Key Responsibilities include:

Accurately collect data needed for the appropriate portion of the integrated assessment.
Take and record vital signs properly.
Observe for, and document changes in patient's appearance, behavior and ability to work toward treatment plan goals.
Communicate changes in patient's condition to the Charge Nurse.
Report signs and symptoms of infection in resident to the Charge Nurse

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education: Graduate from an accredited professional vocational school of nursing or vocational training as a psychiatric technician, preferably with education in Child and Adolescent Development.

Experience: Minimum one (1) year LVN in psychiatric nursing preferred, with six (6) months experience in the specialized area of Child and Adolescent Development preferred.

Licensure: Licensed to practice vocational nursing from the State Board of Nursing or Psychiatric Technicians.
