Job summary

X-energy seeks a mechanical engineer to design and develop mechanical systems, structures, and components for nuclear products, guiding concepts through prototyping, testing and commissioning. You will plan analyses, document design basis, and support manufacturability and integration with project leads.

Qualifications include a BS in mechanical engineering, hands-on calculations, and CFD tool experience (STAR-CCM+ or Fluent). Preference for Wave6/VAone and Star-CCM+ familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical concepts and support design of SSCs for nuclear products or facilities.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to identify requirements and design criteria.
• Perform analyses to verify SSCs meet technical specifications and design requirements.
• Develop, test, and verify CFD models to support licensing basis.
• Provide heat transfer and fluid mechanics analyses for reactor-related subsystems.
• Assist manufacturability assessment and integration considerations.
• Prepare design documentation and verification plans.
