Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a Senior CFD Analysis Engineer to own high-fidelity CFD/thermal-hydraulic simulations for reactor internals and plant systems. Translate problems into Ansys Fluent models, define V&V per nuclear quality, mentor junior analysts, and deliver analyses for safety, performance, and licensing.

You will collaborate with the ModSim group, interface with Flownex and FEA teams, and help set modeling standards while supporting regulator interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Nuclear Engineering.
• 8+ years of professional, production-grade CFD analysis experience.
• Experience with nuclear quality programs (ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform high-fidelity CFD and conjugate-heat-transfer analyses in Ansys Fluent for reactor thermal-hydraulics.
• Establish and document the verification and validation basis for CFD work per ASME V&V 20.
• Coordinate boundary conditions and data exchange between flows, neutronics, and FEA teams.
• Lead technical problem definition, reviews, and produce compliant analysis packages.
• Develop and standardize CFD methods and templates; mentor junior analysts and support regulator interactions.
