Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join the Professional Services Industries team in Orlando, Florida. The role focuses on welding inspections, testing, and quality assurance across building and pipeline sites.

The candidate must hold an AWS CWI certification with D1.1 experience and have at least 4 years of relevant inspecting experience. Strong blueprints reading, VT/UT/MT skills, and the ability to work overtime are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have AWS CWI Certification with D1.1 experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience performing structural steel inspections, VT, UT, MT, and visual weld inspections.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret tolerances.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and with others; overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental guidelines.
• Test and inspect structural steel during erection on buildings and pipelines.
• Inspect general construction and structural steel erection.
• Perform visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobs.
• Inspect welding joints for defects (cracks, porosity, undercut).
• Record test results and QA data; issue non-conformances and follow through to closeout.
• Analyze, inspect, test, and integrate to assure product quality.
• Document QA activities per company procedures and communicate significant findings.
