Aegeus Inspection is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to ensure the integrity of welded structures across aerospace, power, and oil & gas sectors in Bakersfield, CA.

The role requires AWS CWI certification, 5+ years welding inspection experience, and knowledge of welding codes (AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API). You will review procedures, document findings, and collaborate with engineers and fabricators to drive quality and safety on projects.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) from AWS or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years welding inspection experience in professional services.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and codes AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API.
• Ability to read drawings, WPS, and inspection reports with clear documentation.
• Excellent communication to document findings and collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed visual and non-destructive inspections of welds to assess quality and compliance.
• Review welding procedures, qualifications, and documentation for project specs and regs.
• Identify defects, document findings, and work with fabrication teams on corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records and prepare reports for clients and regulators.
• Stay updated with industry standards and best practices to improve techniques.
