Job summary

Intertek in Canton, Ohio seeks a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join the Professional Services Industries team. The role focuses on inspecting welded structures, reviewing welding procedures, and ensuring conformance to applicable standards on construction sites and workshops.

Qualified candidates will have an AWS CWI certification with D1.1 experience, at least four years of relevant experience, and the ability to read blueprints and tolerances. Local travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have AWS CWI Certification with D1.1 experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety and environment guidelines, policies, and regulations.
• Test and inspect structural steel during erection on general building and pipeline sites, and occasional plant inspections.
• Inspect general construction and structural steel erection for buildings.
• Perform visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobs.
• Inspect welding jobs for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut etc.
• Record results of tests and welding inspections; follow up on non-conformances.
