Job summary

Mi-Jack Products is seeking a detail-oriented Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our Quality team. You will inspect welds on crane structures and components per AWS D1.1, interpret drawings, GD&T, and perform nondestructive testing when required.

Requires AWS CWI, a high school diploma, and 3+ years in weld inspection in heavy manufacturing. Proficiency with measuring tools and documentation is essential for quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification required.
• 3+ years weld inspection in fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
• Ability to read drawings and AWS weld symbols.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools.
• Experience with GD&T and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual weld inspections per AWS D1.1 and company specs.
• Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished parts for dimensional conformance.
• Document nonconformances and disposition welds and components.
• Interpret drawings, weld symbols and GD&T.
• Verify welder qualifications and WPS compliance on the shop floor.
• Record inspection results in quality management systems.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions with Operations/Engineering.
• Perform nondestructive testing (MT/UT/PT) when required.
• Maintain calibration status and proper use of inspection equipment.
• Promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
