Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician for St. Vincent Medical Center to support operative procedures by preparing sterile instruments and maintaining a sterile field.

The role requires assisting the surgical team and ensuring safety and compliance across procedures. Applicants should have an accredited surgical technology program and NBSTSA/NCCT certification, with CPR and BLS required within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology required (Ohio Labor and Delivery unit preferred).
• Certification through NBSTSA or NCCT required; CPR and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates operative procedures by preparing sterile instruments and equipment.
• Maintains sterile field and supports surgical team.
• Trains and orients students and new staff.
• Ensures compliance with hospital policies to meet quality, safety and efficiency standards.
