Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician at St. Vincent Medical Center in Ohio.

The role involves preparing sterile instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and supporting the surgical team before, during, and after procedures. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, an associate degree in Surgical Technology, and NBSTSA/NCCT certification with CPR/BLS compliance within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Certified through a Nationally Recognized Certifying Agency (e.g., NBSTSA or NCCT) (required)
• CPR (required). Must have or complete certification within 6 months from date of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (required)

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains sterile instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Maintains sterile field and supports surgical team during procedures.
• Trains and orients students and new staff members.
• Compliance with hospital policies to ensure quality, safety and efficiency.
• Attends programs and maintains certifications as per department policy.
• Demonstrates Mercy Health values in daily practice.
• Handles call responsibilities as required by policy.
• Applies knowledge of anatomy, physiology and asepsis in OR settings.
