Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology is required, unless being hired into a Labor and Delivery unit in Ohio then preferred.
• Grandfathered SC as a surgical technologist if worked prior to 2008.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates operative procedures by preparing sterile instruments and equipment.
• Maintains sterile field and supports the surgical team.
• Assists in training and orientation of students and new staff.
• Adheres to hospital policies to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety.
• Maintains required certifications and participates in continuing education.
