The role emphasizes maintaining the sterile field and anticipating the needs of the surgical team. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, an associate degree in surgical technology, and CPR/BLS certification with NBSTSA/NCCT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires basic sciences knowledge (anatomy, physiology, microbiology) and operating room techniques.
• Must have CPR and BLS certifications; NBSTSA/NCCT certification preferred.
• Two-year surgical technology program completion or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and provide sterile instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Maintain sterile field and assist surgical team in procedures.
• communicate with team to ensure safety, efficiency and quality.
• Assist in training students and new staff; adhere to policies and procedures.
• Complete continuing education and maintain required certifications.
