Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician for the Short Procedure Unit at Einstein Montgomery. This full-time role (32 hours/week) in the daytime shift supports the intraoperative team, maintains the sterile field, and assists with preoperative to post-operative care, including precepting and ensuring patient safety.

The CST (TS-C) or equivalent certification, graduation from a surgical technician program, and strong attention to sterility and teamwork are required to deliver

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED completed.
• Graduate of a surgical technician training program.
• Knowledge of patient-centered care and diverse populations.
• Understanding of communication concepts and teamwork in perioperative settings.
• Knowledge of sterility, safety standards and OR procedures.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes patients and families and provides compassionate, coordinated care.
• Inspects OR for cleanliness and prepares equipment and supplies.
• Participates in team timeout and ensures patient safety.
• Assists with gowning/gloving and sterile field preparation.
• Maintains sterile field and assists with instrument counts.
• Precepts other surgical team members as needed.
