Qualificações

• High School diploma required.
• NBSTSA Certification in Operating Room Technology required.
• Certified CST Training Program completed.
• Experience in operating room setting preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Applies asepsis; performs scrub, gowning and gloving.
• Sets up sterile instrument table and prepares supplies for operation.
• Assists surgeon with instruments, sutures, sponges and supplies; monitors progress.
• Maintains aseptic technique and reports discrepancies.
• Assists in handling and disposition of specimens and dressings; secures drainage systems.
• Assists RN in circulating functions per guidelines.
• Assembles supplies for procedures; provides special equipment as needed.
• Ensures correct patient positioning and aseptic environment.
• Prepares operative area and assists in draping as directed.
• Maintains correct counts of sponges, needles and instruments; reports discrepancies.
• Monitors room to prevent breaks in aseptic technique; protects specimens.
• Assists in dressing and patient transfer to recovery; prepares for next procedure.
• Assists in preparing medications or solutions during surgery.
• Announces drug administration details; ensures patient safety.
• Acts as a professional role model; preceptor for students and staff.
• Maintains accountability to institutional policies and professional development.
• Performs scrub and sterile instrument duties per guidelines.
• Does not dispense narcotics; supports operational needs in OR transport and storage.
• Maintains quotas for sterile supplies and equipment in OR and storage areas.
• Keeps OR and storage areas orderly and stocked.
