Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of surgical technology or equivalent training.
• 1 year of perioperative experience required; 5 years via Armed Forces preferred.
• CST certification within 1 year of graduation and BLS certification required.
• Excellent oral and written communication and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the organization’s mission, vision and values.
• Prepare sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and anticipate surgical team needs.
• Assist with Time Out and Post Procedure Sign Out and ensure correct site/side/level.
• Prepare specimens and ensure proper labeling and handling.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and participate in quality improvement.
• Pursue professional growth and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Read, write, and comprehend medical terminology; read diverse surgical procedures.
