Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York seeks Surgical Care Assistants to support the Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and Preoperative Services.

You will assist in care areas, prepare supplies, decontaminate equipment, transport patients, and maintain safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced hospital environment. A high school diploma is required and inpatient healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer relevant experience in an inpatient health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Care of Scrub Areas and Clean Utility Rooms: replenish supplies and maintain cleanliness.
• Decontamination of Surgical Equipment according to Infection Control Guidelines.
• Care of Special Surgical Equipment, Instruments and Supplies.
• Care of Soiled Utility Rooms and related storage areas.
• Maintenance of Floor Stock, Equipment, Supplies and Solutions.
• Care of Specimens and handling per protocol.
• Patient Care: monitor vital signs and assist with safe patient handling.
• Transportation of Patients to holding areas and OR suites.
