Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a certified Surgical Technician to join our operating room team in Florida.

The role supports the perioperative team, maintains sterile technique, and ensures timely instrument readiness to facilitate safe patient care. The ideal candidate holds CST certification, completes sterile processing duties, and collaborates with RNs and surgeons to optimize OR efficiency and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Surgical technology education or equivalent.
• 0-2 years OR experience preferred.
• CST certification and sterile processing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room with instruments and supplies for procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and apply universal precautions.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments accurately.
• Inspect, clean, and sterilize instruments per policy.
• Document counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Assist with patient positioning and draping as directed.
• Maintain physician preference cards and documentation.
• Restock supplies and prepare rooms for next cases.
• Attend to duties as assigned and ensure attendance.
