Job summary

Mt. Olympus Surgery Center, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Certified Instrument/Sterile Processing Tech to support patient care by cleaning, sterilizing, and disinfecting instruments and supplies under RN supervision. You will maintain logs, follow manufacturer guidelines, and ensure safe, sanitary operating room readiness.

The role requires at least one year in sterile processing, BCLS certification, and knowledge of AAMI/ASHCSP standards. Mt.

Qualifications

• One year experience in surgical instrument sterilization processing, preferably in an acute care or ambulatory surgery center environment
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment; online certification not acceptable
• Certification and knowledge of standards and guidelines of AAMI and ASHCSP

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge related to maintenance, cleanliness, and sterilization of instruments and equipment
• Maintain a sanitary environment for the provision of patient care
• Demonstrate awareness of sterilization methods for different instruments per manufacturer instructions
• Demonstrate knowledge of high-level disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment
• Maintain a daily log, test efficacy of disinfecting solution with each cycle, and perform biological testing
• Monitor and record all test loads and sterilization cycles and document deviations to OR Coordinator/Nurse Manager
• Maintain an accurate log for equipment out for repair
