Job summary

Physicians Pavilion Surgery Center, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Certified Instrument/Sterile Processing Tech to support patient care by ensuring properly cleaned, sterilized instruments and supplies. You will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse in a fast-paced environment across surgical services.

Responsibilities include instrument maintenance, sanitation, verifying sterilization methods, and logging cycles with adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• One year experience in surgical instrument sterilization processing in acute care or ambulatory surgery center environment.
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment.
• Certification and knowledge of standards and recommended guidelines of AAMI and ASHCSP

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge related to maintenance, cleanliness, and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
• Maintain a sanitary environment for patient care.
• Demonstrate awareness of appropriate sterilization methods for different instruments per manufacturer instructions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of high-level disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment.
• Maintain a daily log, test efficacy of disinfecting solution with each cycle and perform biological testing.
• Monitor and record test loads and sterilization cycles, documenting deviations to OR Coordinator/Nurse Manager
• Maintain an accurate log for equipment out for repair
