Job summary

Advocate Health's Sterile Processing Services department is seeking a full-time, CSPDT-certified Sterile Processing Technician. You will clean, inspect, and assemble instruments, operate sterilizers, and maintain logs and supplies in a hospital setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and CSPDT certification. Schedule is Monday–Friday with 3pm–11:30pm shifts, weekend/holiday calls, and comprehensive benefits in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment.
• Cleans instruments and equipment using appropriate methods.
• Ensures correct inspection of reusable items.
• Sorts and assembles instruments and/or sets.
• Operates sterilizing units to produce sterile products and reduce infection risk.
• Maintains sterilization supplies and prep solutions.
• Performs daily checks on autoclaves and Steris units with indicators and tests.
• Maintains logs and records of sterilizers.
• Maintains technical knowledge.
• Provides care appropriate to age groups served.
