Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join the 37719 Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital - Sterile Processing Services. This full-time position supports decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments for the Operating Room and other departments.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; 1 year of experience is preferred. Basic computer skills and ability to follow directions are important, with Central Service Certification preferred or obtainable

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 1 year experience preferred, but not required.
• Certified Central Service Tech preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate instruments and equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
• Assemble instrument sets and packaging for sterilization.
• Operate steam sterilizers and monitor cycles for quality control.
• Maintain inventory and storage of sterile items for distribution.
• Assist with department documentation and requesting supplies.
