Job summary

Advocate Health's Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Sterile Processing Services is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician who holds CSPDT certification and a high school diploma or GED, for a 40-hour work week in a hospital setting.

You will clean, inspect, sort and sterilize instruments, operate autoclaves, washers, ultrasonic cleaners and Steris units, and maintain logs and records of sterilizers and supplies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; CSPDT certification required.
• CSPDT licensure required.
• Experience in sterile processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards and promotes teamwork.
• Cleans instruments and equipment using proper methods.
• Inspects reusable items for quality.
• Sorts and assembles instrument sets.
• Operates sterilizing units to produce sterile products.
• Ensures availability of supplies and prep solutions.
• Monitors autoclaves and Steris units with indicators and tests.
• Maintains logs, records, and charts of sterilizers.
• Maintains technical knowledge and follows age-specific care guidelines.
