Job summary

Mercy Health – St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital in Ohio is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to inspect, clean, assemble and test patient care instruments in a fast-paced OR setting.

The role requires CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD certification, a high school diploma or GED, and experience in a surgical environment; EPIC training is a plus.

The department values infection control, teamwork and accuracy; rotating shifts, 40 hours per week, on-site, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD certification required.
• Recent surgical setting experience preferred.
• EPIC training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination and processing of surgical instrumentation according to manufacturer's instructions.
• Inventory, restock, label and deliver supplies; rotate stock and manage expiries.
• Document quality assurance and perform instrument tracking and data entry.
• Operate sterilizers and verify sterilization using indicators.
• Identify instruments by surgical specialty and assist in assembly/disassembly.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing competency development; on-call as scheduled.
