Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to reprocess reusable instruments in the Sterile Processing department. The role involves cleaning, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of reusables and completing OR case carts.

Ideal candidates will have CRCST certification or be able to obtain within one year, with a High School Diploma and prior central service or surgical experience preferred. Expect rotating shifts and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certificate or obtain within one year of hire.
• High School Diploma required.
• Prior Central Service or Surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reprocess reusable instruments and equipment in Sterile Processing.
• Clean, package, sterilize and distribute reusables; complete OR case carts.
• Maintain infection control standards and JCAHO compliance; follow guidance from supervisor.
• Maintain stock levels and coordinate replenishment with inventory coordinator.
• Keep a neat, accurate workspace and maintain documentation of sterilization logs.
