Job summary

Mercy Health in Boardman, OH is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to support sterile processing for surgical services. The role involves decontamination, assembly, testing, and sterilization of instruments according to AAMI and regulatory standards, with rotating shifts and weekend/holiday rotation.

Successful candidates will have CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD certification, a high school diploma, and prior operating room or sterile processing experience.

Qualifications

• Certified Sterile Processing Technician required (CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD)
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Recent surgical setting experience preferred
• EPIC training is a plus

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination of surgical instruments per manufacturer instructions
• Assembles, tests, and sterilizes instruments maintaining aseptic technique
• Manages inventory, stocks, and delivers supplies per guidelines
• Performs quality control and instrument tracking and documentation
• Operates sterilizers and monitors indicators for sterility
• Documents activities and reports variances affecting products or patient safety
• Identifies and resolves infection control issues during transport of hazardous materials
• Participates in staff orientation and ongoing competency development
