Job summary

OhioHealth in Columbus is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician - Non-Certified to perform decontamination, cleaning and packaging of surgical instruments and endoscopes. You will monitor sterilization equipment, maintain records and support operating rooms and external clients.

Requires High School or GED and strong teamwork, communication and attention to detail. Evening shift, 40 hours per week, with opportunities to learn and grow within a high reliability, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

High School or GED is required.
Less than 1 year of experience in sterile processing, surgery, or a related field.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform basic calculations.

Responsibilities

Decontaminate, disinfect and clean a variety of reusable surgical instruments.
Operate steam and chemical sterilizers; document indicators and monitoring.
Enter, modify and search instrument tracking information.
Handle packaging, storage and transport of sterile packages.
Interact with vendors and surgical reps for loaner trays.
Follow AAMI and AORN industry standards.
Demonstrate customer service while supporting operating rooms and external clinics.
Assist in education and training of colleagues.
