Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor to support the High Point Medical Center SPD team during the 2nd shift. You will guide staff through the sterile processing cycle, ensure equipment readiness, and maintain compliance with department policies.

Highest priority is patient safety and efficient case cart management, with opportunities to lead projects and coordinate with OR teams. Requires CSPDT and two years of SPD experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with two years' experience in Sterile Processing.
• CSPDT certification or another sterile processing certification is required.
• Certification in Sterile Processing Management is strongly encouraged within three years.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide SPD staff with expert knowledge of the sterile processing cycle.
• Assume Sterile Processing Supervisor duties when assigned.
• Assist Supervisor in meeting department production by directing SPD staff.
• Help with case carts management and communicate issues to the SPD Supervisor.
• Discuss instrument needs clearly with SPD Supervisor, SPD Liaisons, and OR Coordinators.
• Ensure all equipment functions optimally and report issues to the Supervisor.
• Assist with maintenance of department compliance logs.
• Support implementation and enforcement of department policies.
• Contribute to special projects and interdepartmental committees.
• Follow policies to prevent spread of bloodborne and/or airborne diseases.
