North Carolina Specialty Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a FT Sterile Processing Lead for the second shift to oversee the SPD daily operations and ensure proper decontamination, sterilization, and instrument maintenance. Under the Surgical Services Director, you will supervise SPD staff, maintain QA, track documentation for regulatory bodies, and collaborate with OR teams to anticipate equipment needs.

The role demands strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to patient safety standards

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Completion of Sterile Processing Program from an accredited institution or equivalent clinical experience in SPD.
• Certification required for Supervisor position along with 3-5 years of SPD experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily operation of SPD department and staff; accepts other duties as assigned.
• Collects, reviews and stores documentation for verification of decontamination/sterilization.
• Verifies QA for SPD process and equipment; maintains QA logs and daily monitoring.
• Prepares reports to support Performance Improvement for equipment and instrument purchases.
• Staffs department adequately for daily schedule.
• Reviews and revises policies/procedures as needed; adheres to hospital policies.
