Job summary

Avondale Elementary School District seeks a full-time Special Education Resource Teacher. The role requires implementing instruction aligned with Arizona standards, collaborating with master teachers, and contributing to professional growth through TAP and mentor cooperation.

The position includes a clear focus on individualized instruction through IGPs, ongoing assessment, and alignment to state and district expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (minimum requirement).
• Valid Arizona teaching certificate.
• Meets Criteria of Appropriately Certified - Special Education, appropriate for subject/area.
• Minimum of a Provisional SEI, ESL or Bilingual Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the Teacher Advancement Program (TAP) teacher instructionally focused accountability system.
• Attend ongoing applied professional growth groups (clusters).
• Participate in TAP team-teaching/coaching with mentor and master teachers to enhance expertise.
• Collaborate on lesson planning with mentor and master teachers.
• Develop an Individual Growth Plan (IGP).
• Use formal and informal assessment to monitor student progress toward goals.
• Align lessons to district curriculum and state standards.
• Demonstrate content knowledge across subjects and integrate with other areas.
• Assist in design and implementation of IEPs.
• Maintain accurate records and effective communication with students and staff.
