AltaMed is seeking a qualified medical coder to assign codes to patient symptoms, diagnoses, procedures, and treatments, ensuring accurate reimbursements in the NextGen system.

Responsibilities include reviewing and adjudicating coding for medical claims, entering ICD-9-CM, HCPCS, and CPT codes, and supporting accurate billing edits. CPC certification required; CCS preferred depending on department.

Qualifications

• One year college/trade school or two years of medical coding/billing edit review experience.
• CPC certification is required; CCS preferred depending on department.

Responsibilities

• Assign codes to patient symptoms, diagnoses, operations, and treatments to process reimbursements.
• Review and adjudicate coding services, procedures, and diagnoses on medical claims.
• Enter ICD-9-CM, HCPCS, and CPT codes into the NextGen system.
