Job summary

Alteva RCM seeks a Professional Coder to review clinical documentation and assign diagnosis and CPT codes for professional services across specialties. You will apply coding guidelines and payer rules to ensure accurate submissions and timely reimbursement.

Requirements include 3+ years of hands-on coding experience, active AHIMA or AAPC credential, and proficiency with CPT/ICD-10-CM. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and continual learning in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Completed AHIMA or AAPC-approved coding program with active credential (CPC/CCS preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on physician/professional services coding experience across one or more specialties.
• Proficient knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, anatomy, physiology and Medicare/Medicaid policies.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate/Bachelor degree preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with reporting and data analysis tools preferred.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign diagnosis and procedure codes for professional services.
• Code tickets accurately and timely to support clean claim submission and reimbursement.
• Research and resolve coding scenarios, including payer edits and documentation questions.
• Meet daily productivity targets and maintain coding quality.
• Escalate complex scenarios and communicate issues to leadership.
