Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a qualified Coder to accurately code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-CM/PCS and CPT coding guidelines. The role collaborates with the revenue cycle team to ensure precise billing and appropriate reimbursement.

A high school diploma and AAPC/AHIMA coding certification (or RHIA/RHIT eligibility within 1 year) are required. Experience with medical terminology, anatomy, and hospital procedures is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification: AAPC or AHIMA coding certificate with RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CCA/CPC/CPC-A/CPC-H (or RHIA/RHIT eligible within 1 year).

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes to diagnoses and procedures.
• Comply with coding guidelines and abstract required data for statistics and reimbursement.
• Collaborate with revenue cycle team to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
