Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of lab procedures, functions and processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• State of California Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech I).
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing and accessioning in the Referral Lab.
• Perform various types of specimen collection, phlebotomy (including mobile route) and drug test monitoring.
• Review lab reports and perform quality review and troubleshooting, resolving problems as they occur.
• Serve as member of laboratory client services team.
• Prepare specimens for testing, accessioning and packaging for dispatch to outside labs according to written protocols.
