Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a HLT III to perform phlebotomy, specimen processing, and related duties in a high-volume clinical lab on site in California. You will ensure quality specimen handling and compliance with CAP, TJC, OSHA, and state requirements.

The role requiresCalifornia Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech I) and at least 2 years of phlebotomy experience, with weekend/holiday coverage on a rotating basis. Familiarity with lab software and inventory tasks is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• At least 2 years of Phlebotomy experience.
• Good computer skills including knowledge of various software applications.
• One year clinical laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen procurement and phlebotomy following established protocols.
• Process and handle blood components as required.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with CAP, TJC, OSHA and other regulatory standards.
• Inventory and ordering of supplies, clerical tasks, and communication with laboratory customers.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
