Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform pre-analytic specimen collection and preparation in an inpatient setting. The role may involve work in other laboratory areas as needed, within a leading academic health system.

Required qualifications include a California Phlebotomy license and strong communication and customer service skills. This is a frontline laboratory position within the Health System.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of lab procedures, functions and processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• State of California Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech I).
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-analytic phases of clinical specimen collection and preparation.
• Primarily in an in-patient setting; may work in other areas of the lab as needed.
