Qualifications

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) required.

• Experience in a related lab within a large healthcare system preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Skills in collection, specimen preparation, storage and disposal.
• Knowledge of scientific terminology.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen processing, accessioning, phlebotomy, and heel/finger sticks.
• Provide customer service and effective communication with laboratory customers.
• Maintain record keeping and supply inventory.
• Operate instruments and perform preventative maintenance as appropriate.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment in line with safety standards.
• Travel to other UCSD sites may be required.
