Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join the Laboratory team. Under direct supervision, you will process specimens, perform phlebotomy, accessioning, and handle customer service while maintaining accurate records and inventory in a safe environment.

You will operate instruments as assigned, perform preventative maintenance, and communicate effectively with laboratory customers. Travel to UCSD sites may be required; adherence to safety standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have CPT certification.
• Knowledge of hospital infection control protocols and patient safety.
• Experience in a large healthcare system preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with specimen processing, storage, and disposal.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and accessioning.
