Job summary

RHA Health Services in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) to empower individuals in recovery. You will provide community-based support, promote self-determination, and model coping skills while advocating for the people you serve.

This regular, full-time role pays 17.00 USD per hour, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 to 5:00, and includes benefits such as Payactiv, PTO, health insurance, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist in NC or PA
• 1 year experience working with individuals with behavioral health issues preferred
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Modeling effective coping and self-help techniques to individuals
• Providing empowerment skills and support in successful recovery living
• Assisting individuals in finding resources, advising of processes, and encouraging follow through with proposed resolutions, locating social activities, or provide other assistance as needed
• Leading peer support groups with individuals served
• Supporting/assisting individuals in daily decision making and resolution of minor problems
• Facilitating social opportunities in the community
• Fostering development of healthy relationships by encouraging participation in community activities
• Sharing personal story of recovery and resilience to instill hope
