Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist with assessments and implement individualized treatment programs for patients across all ages under supervision of a licensed OT. The role includes documenting progress and managing treatment modalities in accordance with departmental policies and Mercy standards.

The position requires OTA program graduation, current BLS, and licensure eligibility. Experience is preferred but new graduates are welcome.

Qualifications

• Education: graduate of an accredited Occupation Therapist Assistant program.
• Licensure: current license or eligibility for licensure as OTA.
• Experience: one year preferred but new graduates considered.
• Certifications: BLS certified; certifications current before caring for patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment and contribute to individualized treatment plans.
• Document patient care progress notes and treatment needs.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatments per policies.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records including charges.
• Promote education within the department.
• Care for diverse age groups: neonatal to geriatric.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
