Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network in Stroudsburg, PA seeks a Certified Surgical Technician for the Operating Room on a per diem, part-time basis. You will assist with sterile setup, instrument handling, and passing items to the surgeon.

Must have NJ or PA certification at hire; new graduates may apply with certification within six months. On-the-job training provided to orient you to our OR team.

Qualifications

• Certification required at hire (NJ or PA).
• On-the-job training provided; orientation period included.
• Ability to perform sterile technique with precision and speed.

Responsibilities

• Check supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure.
• Scrub, gown, and glove self and members of the surgical team.
• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions.
• Perform counts with circulator prior to operation and before incision is closed.
• Assist with draping sterile field.
• Pass instruments, retractors and sutures to surgeon during procedure.
• Maintain highest standard of sterile technique throughout the procedure.
• Handle surgical specimens and sharps following OR safety policies.
