Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician (Per Diem) in Orwigsburg, PA. The role entails retrieving and decontaminating used instruments, performing high-level disinfection, and preparing sterile packs and case carts for the Operating Room.

On-site, part-time shift with weekend/on-call rotation requirements. Qualification includes a High School diploma or equivalent and SPD certification within 18 months of hire, plus an 8-week orientation program.

Qualifications

• SPD certification required within 18 months of hire.
• On-the-job training with 8 weeks minimum orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves, sorts and decontaminates used materials and instruments according to procedures.
• Performs quality checks for cleanliness, sharpness and function of instruments.
• Performs high level disinfection on items not suitable for sterilization.
• Assembles and wraps items for sterilization and prepares case carts for the Operating Room.
