Job summary

Recover-Care seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support licensed therapists in providing patient-focused care within skilled nursing facilities. The role involves selecting activities, observing progress, collaborating with clinicians, and documenting treatments.

The successful candidate will instruct patients and families on home programs, assist with treatment plans to enhance independence, and communicate effectively with the care team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited OT program.
• Current state licensure as Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Proficiency with applicable state, federal, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities to fit patients’ needs and capabilities. Observe and record progress in client records.
• Collaborate with other health care professionals involved with the care of a patient.
• Instruct or assist in home programs, basic living skills, and use of adaptive equipment; assist in implementing treatment plans.
• Assess daily living skills of disabled clients; aid patients in dressing and grooming.
• Assemble, clean, and maintain equipment for patient use.
• Demonstrate therapy techniques such as manual activities or games.
• Teach patients to manage emotions constructively.
• Attend care plan meetings to review progress and update plans.
