Qualifications

Job Summary: The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, provides therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment, adhering to professional practices and ethical standards.

Licenses and Certifications: Must hold and maintain a current, valid state OTA license or certification. Current CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications: Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program. Experience: 0-1 years.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and other interventions.
• Help patients with exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques to improve functional abilities and independence.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of patients’ responses to therapy, progress, and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and their families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies for continued progress.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
