Job summary

AVIR at Eagle Pass is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house rehabilitation team. We offer both full‑time and per diem positions providing hands-on, patient-focused care alongside an interdisciplinary group.

You will implement treatment plans, assist with activities of daily living, document progress, and collaborate with OTs, PTs, SLPs, and nursing to help residents regain independence and improve quality of life.

Qualifications

• Current Texas COTA license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• NBCOT certification or eligibility as required.
• Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience in skilled nursing or subacute rehab preferred.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Implement individualized treatment plans based on residents' needs and goals.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, therapeutic exercises, mobility, and fine motor skills.
• Monitor residents' response to treatment and communicate progress to the supervising OT.
• Provide education to residents and caregivers regarding therapeutic techniques and safety.
• Document treatment sessions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with OTs, PTs, SLPs, nursing staff and other team members.
• Participate in care planning and support residents in achieving functional goals.
• Maintain compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
