Job summary

Ascension, located in Winchester, IN, is seeking support staff for the Medical Surgical department. The role is PRN with rotating shifts, assisting with procedures ordered by physicians and supervised by an RN.

You will help with personal care, ADLs, and transfers, and report any changes to the nursing team. Requirements include a BLS within 30 days and Nurse Aide credential from the Indiana Board of Nursing, with a high school diploma equivalency or 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date. Accepted by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Nurse Aide credential from Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date.
• Education: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist procedures ordered by physician under RN supervision.
• Accommodates patients with personal care, ADLs and transfers/transport.
• Reports findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Keep patients' rooms clean and orderly.
• Monitor patient environment for safety hazards and emergencies and take corrective action as needed.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Assists with keeping patients/participants rooms clean and orderly.

• Monitors patients/participants environment for safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective action as appropriate, as needed.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Nurse Aide credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
